Organic Chardonnay

Organic Chardonnay

£15.49

Chardonnay, DO Valencia, Spain

After a sip of our organic Chardonnay, you will find yourself transported to its home in Southern Spain – a region featuring a stunning mountainous landscape, abundant vineyards, and medieval villages. However, that doesn’t mean this is an old-style Chardonnay. On the contrary, this is modern Spain at its best – using traditional, sustainable growing and harvesting methods to produce a contemporary organic wine which is dry and light with fresh, zesty flavours.

Tasting Notes

Sea Change Organic Chardonnay appears bright, like sunshine in the glass. A balanced combination of aromas and taste creates a light yet fruity wine. Nuances of white flowers on the nose and citrus fruits on the palette, it has a refreshing acidity that ends with a long-lasting finish.

Food Pairings

Chardonnay is an amazingly versatile, yet often underestimated wine when it comes to food pairings. We think it’s the ideal accompaniment to a zingy summer salad (one of our favourites is peach, spinach and avocado!) or a tasty vegetable terrine. It also pairs beautifully with fish and seafood. With pasta, aim for butter or cream-based sauces to bring out the best in this wine.

When to drink

Sea Change Organic white can be enjoyed when youthful and fresh and will last up to three years if stored correctly. It’s best enjoyed chilled.

Environmental Benefits

Organic practices encourage soil fauna and flora and improve soil structure and health. In general, organic wine grapes are much healthier and therefore produce heartier skins and higher concentrations of those good-for-you antioxidants, including polyphenols and resveratrol. As well as looking after the land, we are also doing our part to encourage healthier ecosystems in our seas by donating to our ocean conservation partners around the world with every bottle of Sea Change wine that is sold.

Find yourself a new favourite wine from Sea Change, a social enterprise making waves of change with their eco-friendly wines.

These winemakers are committed to creating exceptional drinks and caring for our oceans in equal measure. Look closely at the beautiful hand drawn illustrations on each bottle and you’ll notice the marine animals depicted have bits of plastic inside, reflecting the effects of plastic pollution.

Keen to be part of the solution, Sea Change put real thought into their own packaging. There are none of those plastic wraps around their bottle tops and the labels are a mix of paper from certified sustainable forests and grape waste too. Even the corks are made from a renewable plant-based material.

Sea Change also gives back to conservation charities who help protect marine animals too, making a donation for every bottle sold. All this adds up to a lot of small ripples of change and one big positive impact per bottle.

Better still, there’s a great variety in their award-winning range. So you can toast to making a difference whether you’re partial to a prosecco, reds like negroamaro, whites like sauvignon blanc or a rosé.
