Bored of working in the city, Natasha started to forage for ingredients in her allotment, turning them into cordials. It wasn’t long before she was selling these unique cordials at her local farmers market. Demand grew and so Urban Cordial was born.
Natasha was also very aware of the serious problem of food surplus. The scale of the issue was clear - over a third of global food doesn’t reach our plates, often because it is just considered odd-looking, despite being perfectly good to eat. Natasha contacted local farms and began sourcing their excess produce! To date, Urban Cordial has helped to save over 60 tonnes of fruit from landfill. Urban Cordial’s production process is also zero waste with all fruit pulp going to the local farms to become animal feed.
Each cordial variety is made in small batches to create drinks bursting with rich, ripe and real flavour. Each range is named after a unique and fruity character illustrated on the front of the bottle, such as Hector’s Apple and Blackberry Cordial. By working closely with British farms, Natasha ensures that only the highest quality fruit goes into her cordials (even if it’s a bit lumpy or bumpy).
