Wonderful little hanging lanterns…. great for indoor or outdoor decoration. Add a little extra sparkle indoors by hanging in the window or why not hang a few together in any corner to provide a little atmospheric twinkle!  Equally beautiful in the summer hanging from beneath your garden umbrella or in the trees.

Create a festive look with these enchanting star tealight holders. Each hanging brass or silver tealight is handmade by skilled artisans from glass and a lovely golden hued brass or silver.

Please note that due to the handmade nature of these beautiful stars there may be small imperfections which add to their rustic charm and character.

Top tip:  whilst these stars look beautiful outdoors, we recommend bringing them in for storage when they are not lit.

Made by Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark works with grassroots artisans to create unique handicraft items.

It is based in Moradabad, India which is renowned for its brass artistry and has carved a niche for its enchanting brass work across the world.

But this industry has long been plagued with inequitable practices that cripple the artisans; low wages, exploitation by exporters, and the need to self-financing expensive raw materials to complete orders.

In 1986, after six years witnessing the struggles of artisans first hand, Samuel Masih established Noah’s Ark International Exports. He wanted to change the foundation of the exporter-artisan relationship from fear, to trust in an effort to raise the artisans out of poverty and preserve their livelihood.

Noah’s Ark is the first and only Fair Trade certified exporter in Moradabad (member of WFTO and FTF India).

For over 30 years, the company has supported artisans and their families by:

  • paying fair wages which are 10-15% higher than local standards
  • long-term business investment and collaboration
  • driving health and education initiatives
  • profit-sharing with artisans

Karakorum introduces you to artisans of the world and the beautiful stories behind their products. This ethical home decor brand is a joyous celebration of traditional crafts, small business and fair trade practices.

Karakorum is named after the former capital of the Moghul Empire, one of the most important cities on the Silk Road, despite its small size. Likewise, the brand is a small-but-mighty route for trade from around the world.

A scroll through the Karakorum collection is like looking into the shop window of global artisans. Find candles crafted in Eswatini alongside Indian throws, Moroccan lanterns and Guatemalan sugar skull mugs.

All Karakorum products have a special story and significance. Even more importantly, everything in the range is ethically made and sourced. That means the makers get a fair wage, there’s no exploitation in the supply chain, women are treated equally and the local community benefits from Karakorum’s trade.

Whether you’re after a memorable, meaningful gift or a piece you can show off in your own home with pride – the Karakorum collection is the place to find it.
