'bee Gentle' Unfragranced Deep Cleansing Balm

'bee Gentle' Unfragranced Deep Cleansing Balm

£24.00

Suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin, our 100% deep  natural cleansing balm is a gentle everyday cleanser to dissolve away any grime,  pollution and impurities (including makeup) leaving your skin deeply cleansed,  soothed and hydrated.

We’ve selected the best, truly natural ingredients for our cleansing balm so you can  enjoy the feel of soft, clean skin that glows with natural health. Our natural  cleansing balm is creamy and melts into your skin, softening and nourishing as it  goes. It is perfect for all skin types, including teen, acne-prone, dry, menopausal and  ageing skin. These are the main ingredients:

  • Wildcrafted Beeswax – with its propolis and honey intact is a natural exfoliator and humectant (works in a similar way to the synthetic hyaluronic acid), drawing water into the skin throughout the day, keeping it plump and refreshed.
  • Organic Safflower oil - with its silky feel on the skin will help break up blackheads and other impurities.
  • Organic Jojoba - the closest in composition to the oil your body naturally produces so is perfect to remove any pore-clogging oil or grease from your face and replace it with natural, clean organic oil
  • Organic Calendula - the nourishing benefits of calendula are traditionally used to help plump the surface of your skin giving you firmer, more supple skin. In the long term, both the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties have been used to help to protect your skin's collagen and elastin supply.
  • Kaolin clay - kaolin gently removes dirt and impurities from the skin without causing redness or irritation minimising the appearance of pores and banishing blackheads, leaving the skin clear and clean.

How To Use

This soothing,100% natural cleansing balm is best used as the first cleanse as it breaks down and  gently melts away makeup, SPF and any oils (sebum, sweat) on the surface of the  skin.

Simply massage a small pea-sized amount of our natural facial cleanser into your face, then gently cover your face in a warm damp cloth (such as our organic muslin cloth) or flannel and wipe away the day (or night!). You can also use damp cotton wool. This helps remove all traces of oil, ensures maximum dirt removal and has the added benefit of gentle exfoliation.

If you like that ‘squeaky clean’ feel, try following with a water-based cleanse (like our Goat’s Milk & Honey Handmade Soap)

Follow up with a couple of drops of our nourishing Daily Face Serum, or a spritz from our Organic Rosewater and rich Moisturising Balm

The Science Bit:
Conventional moisture creams and lotions are mainly water - night creams are around 50% water; day creams around 60 - 70% water and lotions around 80-90% water. Whilst this water is harmless (it simply evaporates from the skin) the chemical additives that are required to sell all water-based skincare (including preservatives, emulsifiers, stabilisers and thickeners) can damage the skin's natural barrier, often worsening the problem they're trying to help!

The definition of a moisturiser is 'a preparation that protects or preserves the skin's natural barrier' - preventing water loss from within the body and stopping pollution, UV, bacteria and other viruses and microbes from entering the body. This barrier comprises a waterproofing keratin layer (from older skin cells), a lipid layer and the skin's microbiome - trillions of 'good' and 'bad' bacteria in equilibrium.

Unfortunately, the preservatives (biocides) in water-based creams can unbalance the microbiome; the emulsifiers can penetrate and wash away the protective lipid layer and harsh exfoliants wash away the protective keratin layer and often the lipid layer and microbiome with it.

Neve's Bees Deep Cleansing Balm cleanses away dirt, grime, make-up and pollution gently yet effectively, leaving the skin's natural protective barrier intact, leaving you with smooth, soft skin that stays hydrated all day.
