Give back to the Amazon this Black Friday with Social Supermarket
Social Supermarket, the UK’s leading marketplace for social impact products, is partnering with non-profit One Tree Planted this Black Friday to help save the Amazon rainforest.
With every order placed from Friday 25th to Monday 28th November (inclusive), Social Supermarket will plant one tree in the Amazon. Shopping on Social Supermarket already has charitable donations built in by the very nature of every item coming from a social enterprise or purpose-driven brand. In fact, shoppers can shop by brands that donate to charity for every product sold.
The trees will be planted in Peru – and every purchase that’s made through the Social Supermarket Black Friday partnership will contribute to a tree-planting project carried out in 4 native communities of the Shipibo Conibo ethnic group. Located in the Calleria district, of the Colonel Portillo province, in the Ucayali department. The method of restoration will help to establish systems that are self-sustaining and resilient in order to accelerate the recovery of biodiversity. One Tree Planted‘s on-the-ground planting partners work with the local community, helping to increase their understanding of the ecosystems and their benefits. This project will also benefit 258 families and provide jobs for 600 men and 300 women.

“We’re excited about this partnership with Social Supermarket, which will help us to get more trees in the ground in regions where they are needed most. The trees planted as a result of this project will have positive impacts on nature, biodiversity, and people for years to come.” – Ashley Lamontagne, Forest Campaign Manager at One Tree Planted,
