Green and Grounded is an award-winning independent florist and botanical studio in the heart of Sale, South Manchester. Founded by husband-and-wife team Matt and Rowan Hammond, the shop grew out of their travels through Europe and Japan, where they sought out the independent plant and lifestyle shops that inspired a venture of their own.
They create seasonal floral arrangements, curated houseplants, kokedama and terrariums — botanical pieces designed to bring calm, warmth and texture into everyday spaces. Alongside the shop, they run hands-on seasonal workshops, from wreath making and floral design to terrarium and kokedama building.
Sustainability runs through everything they do: plants and flowers are sourced from ethical, fair-trade growers, and the team works to use as little plastic as possible.
Meet The Founder
Matt and Rowan Hammond founded Green and Grounded after travelling through Europe and Japan, where they spent their time seeking out the independent plant and lifestyle shops they loved. Inspired to create something of their own, they opened Green and Grounded and expanded into Stanley Square in late 2022 — building a botanical studio rooted in sustainability, craft and a calmer way of living.
